ABHH coordinates the Immunohematology External Quality Control Program (CQI), which evaluates the technical performance of transfusion agencies and laboratories through theoretical and practical rounds. With full support, certification, and educational content, the program promotes continuous improvement and excellence in immunohematology services.

What is a registry?
A registry is a non-interventional tool created for the collection of diagnostic, epidemiological, and treatment data. The term “real-life data” is used to describe a set of data generated or obtained outside the conventional clinical research environment.
Current ABHH Records
ABHH currently has the following records:
Data Collection, Management, and Confidentiality
Basic Proficiency Test
At each round, the participant will receive a theoretical assessment and a practical evaluation consisting of 4 samples (2 red blood cell suspensions and 2 sera) to be tested. These samples are compatible with all testing methodologies available on the market. The tests to be performed include mandatory pre-transfusion tests, which are described below:
• ABO typing (direct test and reverse test);
• RhD typing;
• Irregular Antibody Search (PAI);
• Irregular antibody identification (IAI), if performed by the agency.
• Compatibility proof. The theoretical proficiency test will be based on real clinical cases and/or relevant topics in hemotherapy and is intended to corroborate the growth of service learning.

Advanced Proficiency Test
At each round, the participant will receive a theoretical assessment and a practical evaluation consisting of 4 samples (2 red blood cell suspensions and 2 sera) to be tested. These samples are compatible with all testing methodologies available on the market. The tests to be performed meet the needs of a transfusion agency and/or reference laboratory in immunohematology, and are described below: •
ABO typing (direct test and reverse test);
• RhD typing;
• Erythrocyte phenotyping;
• Irregular Antibody Search (PAI);
• Identification of irregular antibodies (IAI) including the presence of multiple antibodies; • Compatibility test.

Benefits of participating in ABHH's Immunohematology External Quality Control (CQI)
a) The theoretical proficiency test is based on real clinical cases and/or relevant topics in hemotherapy and aims to corroborate the growth of service learning.

b)
Incentive for training and continuing education at each round the results will be made available to the client by written, with comments technicians and bibliographic reference for study. Within the platform, will also be offered a Recorded and asynchronous class on the topic of the round. In this way, all HS employees will be able to attend classes, as often as they wish, at their best available time. In addition, a channel will be provided for the customer to answer their questions and request pedagogical support.

c) If the participant loses a round, it is possible, at an extra cost, to recap the tests and/or theoretical evaluations, in order to be certified.
Publication
The principal investigators of the studies are responsible for defining co-authors, as well as their order at publication. To define co-authors, those involved in the analysis and writing of abstracts and/or manuscripts will be considered, which will be submitted to scientific and/or periodic meetings, as well as based on the specified number of patients recruited for the study.
How do I make my institution a participating center?
If you were interested in one (or more) of the ABHH records and would like to participate with your center, send an email to programa básico é direcionado para as agências transfusionais (AT) que realizam apenas testes pré-transfusionais de rotina. O programa avançado é direcionado para AT e/ou laboratórios de imunohematologia de referência.
I have a registration project. How to partner with ABHH?
The request for support to ABHH for a new registration must be linked to the corresponding scientific committee, which will evaluate the project and prepare a proposal to submit for approval by the general management and board of directors of the ABHH. If approved, the records team will contact you to begin planning and viability. To do this, send an e-mail to clique aqui para atualização do cadastro e logo vocês receberão a nova senha de acesso.
My institution didn't execute all 4 rounds, what should I do?
You will receive a new round in the month of January so that we can evaluate the work and then the certificate will be issued. If you are not correct according to the required amounts, you will have the possibility to request an extra round, the same with an additional cost.
How will the certificates be issued?
Participants who submit the answer within the established deadline and obtain 100% accuracy in the practical evaluations and 80% correct in the theoretical evaluations will receive the certificate of proficiency. If the participant loses a round, it is possible, at an extra cost, to recap the tests and/or theoretical evaluations, in order to be certified. At the end of each cycle (4 rounds), the customer must complete a satisfaction survey to receive the certificate of proficiency. This research aims at the continuous improvement of the program.
